They Can’t Tell Me What to See - Virtual Studio Collection

$2,500.00

There are times when we are surrounded by so much noise, so many opinions and so many voices telling us what we should see, think and believe.

This painting is my little rebellion against that.

Among the layers of colour, flowers and expressive marks, there is something about finding your own way through the noise — looking beyond what is presented to us and trusting our own eyes, our own thoughts and our own intuition.

She's acrylic on stretched canvas, 100cm x 100cm, she evolved over many months as I allowed the painting to tell me when she was finished.

This also feels like a companion piece to an earlier work of mine, They Can’t Lock Me In, painted in response to the lockdowns of 2020 in virtual studio with my mentor.

Different time. Different circumstances.

But perhaps the same message…

Think for yourself. Look for yourself. And don't let anyone else tell you what you see.
